New York has a great subway, Los Angeles is the best city to drive and in Las Vegas is easily walkable or a short cab-ride away.
The USA does have a very diverse range of foods, both street and fine dining. Use well-known restaurants as a way of having the best experience.
The best time to visit is in May when the weather is agreeable with relatively few tourists as compared to the peak seasons.
